Applications are open. When do applications close? Applications close on March 28, 2025. Why does my art have to be delivered to my Community Center so far in advance? Pieces entering the Choctaw Cultural Center must be quarantined to protect the valuable cultural and historical artifacts. For more information on this process, view the quarantine letter. My child is homeschooled, and they live within the reservation. Can they still participate? Yes, if the child is in a high school level. Does my child need to be an existing registered artist with the tribe? No, all eligible Choctaw youth are encouraged to participate. What are the categories? Cultural Artwear: Beadwork, Textiles, and Metal Jewelry, etc.2D Art: Painting, Photography, Illustrations, Digital, etc.Diversified: Pottery, Sculptures, Weaving, etc. Is this a juried art show? In 2025, this show will not be juried; however, beginning next year (2026) and forward, it will be. Does my work need to be framed and ready for install? Yes. All 2-dimensional entries must be ready to hang, i.e., glass or Plexiglas covering if needed, and all work must be hung by wire. (Entries with cardboard or sawtooth-type hangers will be disqualified.) Unframed gallery-wrapped canvases are acceptable if the edges are painted or appropriately finished. When does my art need to be delivered to the Community Center? Your art must be delivered to your Community Center no later than 4:00 p.m. on April 10, 11, or 14. What happens if I miss the deadline to deliver my art to the Community Center? If you are unable to deliver your art to your Community Center by the timeline outlined above, you can bring it to the Choctaw Cultural Center in Durant, OK, by 4:00 p.m. on April 19.
