Collections and Archives

At the Choctaw Cultural Center is a secure, climate-controlled area built to house the Cultural Center’s Collections and Archives. This state-of-the-art area is devoted to the care of cultural items, collections pieces and some of the Nation’s most important historical documents. These items are preserved and stored so future generations of Choctaws, as well as visiting scholars, may further their education on Choctaw history and culture.

The Choctaw Cultural Center is actively collecting Choctaw objects and archival material for preservation. If you have any items you wish to donate, please fill out an Application for Object Consideration.

If you would like to schedule an appointment to view an item or do research in the Collections or Archives, please contact us. Research requests should be submitted a minimum of two weeks prior to your visit.

For information on what parameters the Choctaw Cultural Center uses to determine collecting, please see our Collections Management Policy.
