His cultural knowledge and upbringing have since been a tremendous asset to the Cultural Events team. Serving the tribe for over 20 years, Brad continues to share his talents by singing Choctaw hymns, social dancing and chanting, teaching beadwork classes, and practicing other culturally relevant activities. Today, his photography, beadwork, and music can be seen and heard within the Choctaw Cultural Center.
SAPULPA SISTERS
Choctaw artist Brad Joe has watched the Supulpa sisters flourish into the beautiful, strong Choctaw women they are today. In his works, Tvshka Ohoyo Hlampko – Athletic Warrior Woman and Ohoyo Himitta Hlampko – Strong Young Woman, he captures Yasmine Supulpa Del Rosario, Aliyah Supulpa, and Arianna Supulpa in two different settings. The first image shows their fierceness as stickball players and the second their spirits as powerful Choctaw women.
