Choctaw Cultural Center Adds Activities to Magnolia Festival

DURANT, Okla. – The Choctaw Cultural Center is partnering with the Durant Area Chamber of Commerce to help kick off this year’s Magnolia Festival. Choctaw Cultural Night for the Magnolia Festival will take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 1 at the Choctaw Cultural Center, 1919 Hina Hanta Way in Durant.

On June 1, the Cultural Center will extend its hours of operation for gallery touring, dining in the Champuli Café, and shopping in the Hvshi Gift Store.

Beginning at 7 p.m., a Stickball Exhibition Game will be played on the Cultural Center’s lighted Stickball Competition Field. Arena lights will be turned off at dusk so those in attendance can view the fireworks display that will take place at the Choctaw Event Center.

The stickball demonstration is a prelude to the Peh Toli Youth Stickball Tournament. The youth tournament is Saturday, June 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Choctaw Cultural Center Stickball Competition Field.

Regular admission prices to the Cultural Center will be in effect and attendance is complimentary at the Stickball Exhibition Game.
