DURANT, Oklahoma – The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma (CNO) is seeking Choctaw artists who work in the medium of sculpture. Three original busts of historic tribal figures are needed at the Choctaw Capitol Grounds at Tʋshka Homma.

Choctaw artists, especially experienced sculptors, are invited to submit application forms along with images of their work. The artist will be selected based on quality of previous works and connection to the vision of this Choctaw Nation Public Arts project. The goal of the Tʋshka Homma capitol grounds’ busts art project is to make additional contributions to the existing sculptural busts displayed there. A Choctaw artist may be selected to create up to three of the historic figures’ busts. Additional information pertaining to this project will be distributed upon artist selection.

Submissions demonstrating previous sculptural work are appreciated. A knowledgeable panel will oversee the selection process.
